Combined: Canadian Firearms Safety & Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Courses

Sunday May 20th & Monday May 21st 2018 – FULL
To be conducted at Arnone’s Shooting Range Thunder Bay, Ontario
Completion of these courses and/or Examinations is required for anyone wishing to obtain their Canadian Firearm Acquisition License for Non-Restricted and Restricted Firearms. Saturday will cover the requirements for the Non Restricted Licence and Sunday will specialize on restricted firearms (mostly handguns).

Notice a fee will be assessed for withdrawal from this course (by email at jcoghlan@tbaytel.net or at GMK Armouries) at least four days prior to the start of the Course, after that date there will be no refund. Students are required to attend all sessions to graduate. Class size is limited; registrations will be accepted on a first pay basis.

One Stop: Hunter Education & Canadian Firearms Safety Course

*All dates must be attended.
**Weekend two Hunter Education Course Conducted at Arnone’s Shooting Range
Corner of South Court & John Streets, Thunder Bay, Ontario
The Canadian Firearms Safety course is taught first*, followed by the Hunter Education Course**. These courses are open to individuals 12 years of age and older. Students between 12 & 14 yrs. of age may bring their mentor (Adult who is in possession of a valid Hunting License) to the course with them.

$340.00 – One Stop Course with Exams ($300.88 + $39.11 HST)

To register: Bring your Cash or Cheque (payable to Joe Coghlan) to GMK Armoury Specialties (the Gun Shop at Arnone’s Shooting Range). Notice: a fee will be assessed for withdrawal from this course prior to the start of the course. Registrations are accepted on a first paid basis. Course size is limited. Individuals who have successfully completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Exam prior to the Hunter Education Course (proof required a copy of your Course Report CAFC or JUS 332) will only be required to attend Saturday & Sunday of the second weekend, and the fee is $180.00 ($144.75 + 35.25 HST)

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course

Conducted at Arnone’s Shooting Range
Corner of South Court & John Streets Thunder Bay, Ontario
Course Fees
$180 ($249.20 + $30.80 HST)
This course is for Students 18 years of age or older. Covering Restricted Firearms, mostly handguns. Completion of the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and/or Examination is required for anyone wishing to obtain Restricted Firearms, and is useful for people who require a firearm for their work.

Canadian Firearms Safety Course

To register: Bring your cash or Cheque to GMK Armoury Specialties (the Gun Shop at Arnone’s Shooting Range). Registrations are accepted on a first paid basis. Course size is limited to six students; Register early to make sure that you are included.
This course is open to individuals 18 years of age or older who wish to obtain their Canadian Firearms License for Non-Restricted Firearms (Sporting Rifles or Shotguns). Exams will be conducted immediately following the classes and the cost of the CFSC Exams is included in the Course Fee. Applications for your Firearms licence will be given out at the course.
Students are required to attend all sessions to graduate

Stand Alone Hunter Education Course

Stand Alone Hunters & Archery, Falconry Hunter Education Course
This course is open to individuals who have passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course Examination and are over the age of 18 years, and wish to obtain their H1 or A1 Hunting license, and to individuals who do not wish to hunt with a Firearm (Rifle and/or Shotgun and wish to obtain their H2 Hunting License) Exams will be conducted on the Sunday immediately following the classes – the cost of the Hunting Exam is included in the Course Fee.Students are required to attend all sessions to graduate

Wilderness Handgun Safety Course

The Wilderness Handgun Safety Course is an advanced handgun safety course, approved by the Chief Firearms Officer of Ontario (CFO), for the use of handguns in LAWFUL OCCUPATION in the wilderness.
Anyone who wishes to carry a restricted/prohibited handgun for lawful use in a wilderness occupation must successfully complete a 12 hour training course, pass a written test, pass a praxctical test, and pass a marksmanship test. Wilderness Carry is an advanced discipline and novices need not apply.
Course Requirements: the applicant must be in possession of a valid Possession and Acquisition Firearms Licences (PAL) endorsed for Restricted Firearms.

Examinations

OPEN TESTING CANCELLED! Bill C-42 – The Common Sense Firearms Act received Royal Assent 18/06/2015 immediately cancelling all open testing. First time licence applicants must attend an in-class firearms safety course to obtain a Possession/Acquisition licence.
**Courses are not run through GMK Armoury Specialties, we assist the instructor by facilitating course sign ups.
**All course registrations must be paid with cash or cheque (payable to Joe Coghlan) at time of registration.
